Activity Description:
The Anti-doxxing law came into effect on 8 Oct 2021 aiming to combat malicious doxxing acts so as to protect the public's personal data privacy. The ordinance criminalises doxxing acts and empowers the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data to carry out criminal investigations and institute prosecution towards doxxing-related offences. Born in the digital era, university students have a pivotal need to know how they are protected by the amendment of the law and on the other side, preventing the violation of law. We are honoured to have invited Ms Ada Chung, Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, PCPD to explain to us the new amendment.
The talk aims to introduce the significant content and principles of the ordinance, identify possible doxxing behaviours in daily life, and explore ways to protect and respect personal data privacy under the digital era.
