A recent TV drama, The Queen of News, has become a hot topic in Hong Kong. Is the daily life of TV news anchors full of challenges? The theme of the seminar is centred on how a TV news anchor turns into a lawyer. (This seminar will be conducted in Cantonese only)

Miss Lau’s career development from a senior sports-news reporter in TVB News to become a lawyer through long years of diligence and exceptional foresight, is a role model for students and alumni of all disciplines. An alumna in journalism of HKBU, Miss Lau will share her experience in performing a TV news anchor. She would also share insights on how to develop a professional career in legal practice. Other than practising, Miss Lau Wan-Ching chairs and formerly sat a number of public services, including her former role as Chairman of HKSAR Buildings Appeal Tribunal Panel, Member of HKSAR Inland Revenue Board of Review Panel and Appeal Panel (Housing). Miss Lau is not only an alumna of HKBU’s Journalism Department but also the pupil of Senior Counsel Mr Paul Lam Ting-kwok, SBS, JP, Secretary for Justice of Hong Kong SAR.
