Are there clothes hiding in your wardrobe that you never wear but just cannot part with? Upcycle textile waste into wonder and give your old garments a beautiful second life through the unique art of Kinusaiga!
Join a hands-on session that blends traditional artistry with sustainable impact. In this morning's workshop, learn the unique craft of Kinusaiga—creating stunning, mosaic-like artwork by tucking upcycled fabric scraps into carved wooden boards, with no sewing required.
You will also have the special opportunity to meet ladies from ethnic minority (EM) backgrounds to create this meaningful art piece together, exchanging the stories behind your fabric scraps!
The workshop advances SDG 12 by promoting responsible consumption and waste reduction through the upcycling of discarded textiles, and SDG 3 by providing a mindful, stress-relieving creative environment.
